Laboratory Technician, Petroleum – Corpus Christi, Texas
Intertek’s Caleb Brett team is actively seeking a Petroleum Laboratory Technician to join our Corpus Christi, TX facility. This position offers a versatile career in the Inspection and Testing business within the ATIC industry.
What you’ll do:- Performs numerous chemical and physical tests based on ASTM methods or accepted industry standards in multiple test areas
- Assist with equipment calibration, maintenance and basic troubleshooting
- Cleans glassware and test equipment
- Assist with preparing reagents as needed
- Records data on appropriate data sheets and reports data to LIMS system
- Maintain quality records, control charts, and lab supply inventories
- Comply with safety, quality and housekeeping requirements
- Participate in cross training as needed

MinimumRequirements & Qualifications:
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced, multi‑tasking environment with shifting priorities and demanding deadlines
- Detail‑oriented with effective prioritization, organization and efficient time management
- Strong oral, written and presentation communication skills
- Fundamental technical and administrative skills required for the job duties
- Customer‑focused and quality driven
- Ability to multi‑task in high‑production testing areas
- Good math and observation skills
- Proficiency using LIMS applications and established chemistry lab processes
- Excellent team communication, coordination and cooperation
- Ability to follow standard and non‑standard procedures
- Ability to use non‑complex and complex instrumentation
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) preferred
- Availability to work overtime as business needs dictate
- Valid driver's license and reliable driving record required
- Minimum one year experience as a main‑floor lab technician
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED
- Completion of at least one semester of college‑level chemistry and/or prior laboratory experience
- GC experience is a plus
