Summary
This position is located on board Naval Air Station, Corpus Christi, Texas with the Morale, Welfare and Recreation Department. It verifies and safeguards daily cash receipts, disbursements, and daily bank deposits.
Duties and Responsibilities- Receive and verify daily cash receipts, comparing them with daily activity records (DARs) to ensure all transactions are accounted for.
- Consolidate daily cash receipts and prepare bank deposits and the Daily Activity Report Summary, ensuring timely deposit of all daily receipts.
- Maintain the change‑fund receipt log and sequentially numbered manual receipts.
- Reconcile total cash receipts from verified DARs before releasing source documents to the accounting office.
- Maintain a cash shortages/overage log and notify management immediately of discrepancies.
- Gather all supporting documents (DARs, vendor invoices, timesheets/cards, work schedules, group bills, etc.) and forward them to the Regional Business Office.
- Change the safe combination every six months or sooner as needed, maintaining a log and briefing management on changes.
- Conduct monthly training for staff on customer service, theft prevention, robbery prevention, cash handling procedures, processing credit card transactions, and check acceptance.
- Perform other administrative duties as assigned.
Resumes must demonstrate experience, knowledge, skills, and ability (KSAs) relevant to this position. A qualified candidate must possess the following:
- At least one year of general experience.
- Knowledge of basic cash handling procedures, regulations, and computations, including the ability to determine daily cash needs for adequate change.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Basic math skills for accurate addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
Volunteer or part‑time experience will be considered. Applicants must identify duties, responsibilities, and weekly hours for each role and provide education documentation as required.
Education- At least two years (60 semester hours or 90 quarter hours) of education above high school in any field of study at an accredited institution.
- Must meet Federal Employment suitability requirements and pass a background investigation.
- Must pass the E‑Verify employment verification check.
- Must complete a Personal Identity Verification (PIV) process requiring two forms of identification from the Form I‑9.
- May be required to pass pre‑employment examinations.
- A valid State driver's license is required to operate motor vehicles.
- Salary will be sent by Direct Deposit or Electronic Funds Transfer.
- Selective Service registration is required for eligible males.
- Payment of Permanent Change of Station (PCS) is not authorized; relocation is not required.
