Position SummaryNatural Sciences Laboratory Assistant includes the following disciplines:
- Biology
- Biotechnology
- Chemistry
- Geology
- Physics
The Laboratory Assistant will work directly under the tutelage of the Instructor of Record for a respective discipline. Primary responsibilities will involve hands-on activities associated with the laboratory component of these courses. Activities primarily include preparation of materials used for the express purpose experimentation.
Minimum QualificationsSuccessful completion of college-level courses within the respective discipline.
Required Job Knowledge, Skills, AbilitiesThe Laboratory Assistant must be able to demonstrate knowledge of a litany of skills associated with the laboratory component of biotechnology experimentation. This can be done by referencing successful completion of one or more of the above-mentioned courses, or by evidence citing analogous research skills.
Preferred QualificationsA Certificate or an Associate in Applied Science degree in the respective discipline.
