Flint Hills Resources is seeking a Damage Prevention Coordinator to join our team in the Southern Region of Texas. While the primary focus is on protecting our assets in and around our Texas Pipeline 3 system, this role also involves duties across Deep South Texas and possibly throughout other areas of Texas as needed.
The Damage Prevention Coordinator will be responsible for accurately locating pipelines, ensuring safe excavations around them, inspecting Right-of-Way, and managing contractors responsible for vegetation clearance. Additional responsibilities include inputting data into various computer programs, receiving assignments through work management systems, and contributing to the management of small to medium ROW projects.

- Responsible for locating and safeguarding all underground FHR-owned assets in and around our pipeline and terminal assets in South Texas
- Dedicated to mapping assets with the FHR P&T Mapping and Integrity capabilities
- Utilize maps, records, and other resources to accurately locate underground pipelines and other FHR-owned utilities
- Manage landowner interactions, including face-to-face meetings and follow-up activities
- Facilitate and manage landowner agreements as needed
- Install Right-of-Way signage and pipeline markers
- Enhance landowners' awareness of damage prevention and emergency preparedness/response
- Build and maintain relationships with landowners along the pipeline ROW
- Travel up to 90% during the day, with occasional overnight stays
- Reside within a 60-minute drive of Kingsville, Texas
- Provide detailed depth of cover information and/or maps to affected stakeholders as needed
In the event of unplanned events or system callouts, you must be available for on-call rotations during selected nights and weekends, as required. Team members may occasionally travel (with overnight stays) for regular duties, training, meetings, or short-term assistance at other locations.
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)- Previous experience locating pipelines or other underground facilities
- At least one year of experience in the petroleum or chemical industry
- Ability to meet the physical requirements of the role
- Valid driver's license
- Physical ability to frequently stand, walk, lift, carry, push, pull, reach, handle, bend, twist, climb and balance. Physical ability to occasionally sit, kneel, crouch and crawl
- Ability & willingness to utilize Personal Protective Equipment (for example: hard hat, safety glasses, fire retardant clothing, respirator, safety work boots, etc. as required)
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds (with frequent carrying of up to 25 pounds)
- Is able to respond to audio alarms, or other loud noises that would indicate a safety concern
- Must be able to communicate hazardous conditions and other dangers
- Must be able to work near moving mechanical parts, work in wet or humid conditions (non-weather) and outdoor weather conditions, work in high, precarious places and work around fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals.
- Current 24-hour HAZWOPER certification
- Current ISNetworld or EWN qualifications
