Job Description - Aircraft Mechanic III, Fleet Operations Division (2601504)
This position is located at the newly-established satellite maintenance location in Corpus Christi. The Aircraft Mechanic III will conduct advanced aircraft maintenance, inspections, and repairs on fixed and rotary wing aircraft, ensuring compliance with FAA regulations and TxDOT standards. The role demands independent work, accurate record keeping, and a focus on safety and mission readiness.
Responsibilities- Travel with aircrew to perform maintenance–related activities and retrieve grounded aircraft.
- Assemble and install electrical, plumbing, mechanical, hydraulic, and structural components and accessories using hand and power tools.
- Conduct routine and non‑routine aircraft maintenance inspections as required by regulations.
- Diagnose, adjust, repair, and/or overhaul aircraft components and systems, including engines, fuel systems, and hydraulic pumps.
- Disassemble engines and inspect turbine blades, cylinders, and other parts for corrosion, wear, warping, cracks, and leaks using precision instruments and magnetic inspection equipment.
- Inspect airframes for wear, corrosion, distortion, and cracks using magnetic inspection equipment.
- Provide assistance to other mechanics in maintenance or repair procedures.
- Repair and replace pumps, engines, propellers, instruments, landing gear, airframe, control surfaces, and fuel systems.
- Move critical aircraft components using forklifts or overhead cranes.
- Report completed maintenance and repair work to the lead worker.
- Perform other job responsibilities as assigned.
- High School graduate or equivalent.
- Five (5) years of experience in fixed/rotary‑wing aircraft maintenance and repair.
- Valid driver’s license (state vehicle operation required).
- Airframe Mechanic certification.
- Hands‑on maintenance experience with AS350B3 and/or Cessna Caravan 208B aircraft.
- Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
- Knowledge of FAA circulars, orders, and regulations.
- Electrical/electronic troubleshooting and repair techniques.
- Repair and maintenance of hydraulic pumps.
- Preventive maintenance methods and procedures.
- Schematic electrical wiring.
- Mechanical equipment operation and maintenance.
- Application of safety standards, guidelines, and codes.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
- Prioritization of projects/workload and meeting deadlines.
- Accurate record keeping in compliance with FAA and TxDOT standards.
- Lift up to 50 lbs; frequently lift or carry objects up to 25 lbs.
- Wear protective gear (respirator, hard hat, etc.).
- Work in varying environmental conditions, including noise, vibration, dust, fumes, and temperatures.
- Handle hazards such as moving vehicles, high places, heat, chemicals, and narrow aisles.
- Climb ladders, stairs, and scaffolding; balance on uneven surfaces.
- Stand, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl as necessary.
- Reach, push, pull, and lift across multiple directions.
- Manipulate tools with precision; use measuring devices.
- Communicate verbally and listen for instructions.
- Perform repetitive wrist and hand movements.
- Maintain close visual acuity for inspection of small components.
- Operate machines, motor vehicles, and heavy equipment.

Minimum: $65,104.00 per year. Maximum: $ per year (Yearly). FLSA Status:
Non‑exempt.
Work Location:
Corpus Christi, TX. Shift: Mon‑Fri 7:00 am‑3:30 pm. Travel: 25% of the time. Safety Impact position – pre‑employment drug testing required.
