Job Summary- Review safety audits and concerns with the craft crew.
- Participate in safety meetings and enforce safety protocols.
- Execute good housekeeping habits at all times.
- Build wooden structures such as stairs, concrete forms, scaffolds, tunnel and sewer supports, and temporary frame shelters according to blueprints or oral instructions.
- Examine blueprints, sketches, or building plans to determine materials required and dimensions of structures or fixtures.
- Select, load, and haul job material to work sites.
- Prepare layout of forms or fixtures to be fabricated, mark cutting lines, and shape materials to required sizes using saws, chisels, and planes.
- Verify accuracy of structures with transit, plumb bob, and square.
- Use carpentry hand tools including hammers, levels, squares, screwdrivers, adjustable wrenches, power saws, and drills.
- Nail cleats across boards to construct concrete‑supporting forms.
- Brace forms in place with timbers, tie rods, and anchor bolts for concrete piers and footings.
- Erect framework for structures and lay sub‑flooring.
- Cuts and assembles timbers to build trestles and scaffolding.
- Install ladders, handrails, walkways, platforms, and other safety equipment.
- Construct forms, chutes, and align form panels for pouring concrete.
- Fit and install prefabricated window frames, doors, and trim on interior and exterior surfaces.
- Fit and nail sheathing on outer walls and roofs, set and brace anchor bolts.
- Perform minor maintenance or cleaning activities, including tying and operating electric and pneumatic tools, and rigging materials as required.
- Observe and comply with all safety and project requirements, performing other duties as needed.
- Maintain a constant working relationship with fellow crew members.
- Good communication skills, clarity of speech, proper use of radio communication.
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions accurately.
- Strong mathematical skills for shop calculations and measurements.
- Proficiency in visualizing objects in three dimensions from plans.
- Decisiveness based on measurable criteria.
- Experience working at heights safely.
- Willingness to assist other employees in completing assigned tasks.
- Basic understanding of ladder and scaffold safety and maintenance.
- Physical strength and endurance to lift, carry, and maneuver loads exceeding 100 pounds, and to stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl as required.
- Good balance and no fear of heights.
- Excellent vision and hearing.
- Coordination of hand, eye, and foot movements for precision work.
- Strong physical stamina and endurance for repetitive and heavy lifting.
