Key Responsibilities- Conduct hands‑on troubleshooting, repair, and installation of electrical and instrumentation systems and controls within the terminal.
- Plan, schedule, and execute maintenance activities, ensuring compliance with permit‑to‑work, procurement, and regulatory requirements.
- Perform functional tests, calibrations, troubleshooting, and repairs on a wide range of instruments, electrical equipment, and process/environmental analyzers.
- Prepare scope of work, work instructions, testing requirements and other specifications for completion of jobs.
- Procure materials, tools, or services needed for maintenance activities; review and analyze bids from multiple suppliers and recommend selections.
- Prepare work orders for periodic inspections and preventive maintenance (PM); assess PM results and register information in the EAM system.
- Assist in design and selection of new equipment or systems for process improvements or new installations.
- Maintain accurate records within CMMS such as Hexagon EAM, including findings, repair history, and potential improvements.
- Coordinate with other crafts and maintain compliance with daily work order schedules.
- Ensure strict compliance with safety procedures, including OSHA, PHMSA regulations, and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration guidelines.
- Document and maintain inventory control of parts and tools necessary for repairs.
- Provide excellent housekeeping practices and ensure safe and organized work areas.
The Maintenance I/E Technician – Planner’s day involves a blend of field surveying, execution of functional tests, calibrations, and repairs, as well as strategic planning of maintenance schedules and coordination with other teams. You will perform inspections, prioritize workload, and participate in an on‑call schedule as needed.
Qualifications & Experience- 3–5 years of direct experience in the instrumentation & electrical industry within a process or industrial environment (chemical, petrochemical, oil & gas terminal).
- Valid TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Credential) or ability to obtain one.
- Valid state driver’s license.
- Fluent in English (read, write, speak) with effective oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to read, interpret, and follow written job instructions and regulatory documents (e.g., U.S. Coast Guard manuals).
- Proficient computer skills, including experience with Google Suite and CMMS systems such as Hexagon EAM.
- Strong prioritization, multi‑tasking, and teamwork abilities.
- Willingness to work a regular schedule, overtime, and on‑call duties as required.
- Eligible to work in the United States;

- High School Diploma or GED.
- Electrical Journeyman State License.
- NCCER certification in Industrial Electrician or Instrument Technician.

The position requires work in an office environment as well as on the terminal. Employees may be exposed to heat (up to 104°F) and cold (down to 15°F). Exposure to chemicals, confined spaces, and elevated environments is possible. Physical demands include walking, standing, climbing ladders up to 50 feet, lifting up to 50 pounds, and use of PPE.
