Position: E&C Technician (Corpus Christi, TX)

What We Are Looking For

Responsible for safe troubleshooting, installation, repair, and operation of mechanical, electrical, and instrument equipment.

Responsibilities
  • Understand accepted troubleshooting guidelines for PLC, control valves, and all PLC logic.
  • Possess overall knowledge of the installation, operation, and repair of assigned equipment.
  • Maintain sufficient inventory of electrical supplies and repair parts to meet most emergency situations.
  • Takes care of company vehicle, keeping it clean and organized.
  • Reports any unsafe practices or actions to supervisor.
  • Continuously seeks better and more efficient ways of doing job.
  • Keeps lines of communication open to supervisor and other company employees while meeting the needs of all customers.
  • Makes callouts on equipment.
  • Works with project managers, engineering, and contractors on all new construction projects.
  • Maintains all controls, monitors alarms and sensor tests.
  • Troubleshoots and schedules electrical maintenance for the assigned location.
  • Solid understanding of electrical motor control.
  • Has knowledge of electrical prints and is capable of making appropriate red‑line changes to them.
  • Assists PLC programming personnel.
  • Good understanding of PLC cause and effect.
  • Supervises electrical contractors.
  • Job level will be commensurate with experience and knowledge.
Qualifications
  • Education: High School degree or equivalent.
  • Experience: General knowledge of compressor stations, gathering system, and processing plant operations.
  • Certifications: Valid operating license with acceptable driving record under company insurers.
  • Competencies and

    Skills:

    • Good verbal and written communication skills.
    • Customer orientation.
    • Ability to effectively present information in one‑on‑one and small group situations to other employees and outside contractors.
    • Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, decimals).
    • Apply common sense to carry out day‑to‑day operational issues.
    • Make quick and reasonable decisions in sometimes adverse conditions.
Physical Demands
  • Uses physical force to lift, push, pull, and hold equipment/tools.
  • Climbs and works at various heights; may work while standing, sitting, lying down, crouched, or kneeling.
  • Routinely reacts to visual, aural, and other signals, including alarms and instructions, and is required to visually inspect work.
  • Regularly bends, stoops, moves from ground level to higher levels, raises/lifts from ground level a load up to 50 lbs., manually transports a load up to 75 lbs., and applies up to 150 foot‑pounds of torque.
  • Regularly gets in and out of vehicles and rides over rough roads.
  • Candidates may be subject to Department of Transportation (Use the "Apply for this Job" box below). and alcohol testing requirements.
  • Subject to overtime and call‑outs.
Working Conditions
  • Works mostly outdoors, in and around mechanical, industrial, and electrical equipment.
  • Required to climb equipment and work in confined areas (e.g., tanks, between compressors, vessels).
  • May work in hazardous conditions including hydrocarbon vapor, adverse weather conditions, and extreme temperatures.
  • Wears safety equipment as required.

Supervisory responsibility:
None

Preferred Qualifications
  • Journeyman electrician.
Enterprise Asset Management Experience

Maximo or other enterprise asset management application experience.
