Groendyke Transport is hiring a Diesel Technician to maintain and repair our fleet of truck-tractors and cargo tank trailers. In this role, you will diagnose mechanical issues, perform preventive maintenance, and complete repairs that keep our equipment safe, reliable, and operating efficiently. This hands‑on position is ideal for someone with strong heavy‑truck experience who takes pride in quality work and values safety in a professional shop environment.
Responsibilities- Inspect, diagnose, and repair diesel engines, powertrain components, and trailer systems
- Perform preventive maintenance on truck-tractors and cargo tank semi-trailers
- Troubleshoot electrical systems, ABS, and electronic engine components
- Repair or replace components using hand tools and power tools
- Perform brake service, tire service, and FHWA inspections
- Conduct HM‑183 inspections (if qualified)
- Complete welding repairs as needed
- Maintain accurate service and maintenance records
- Provide guidance to less experienced technicians when needed
- Follow all shop safety procedures, including cargo tank entry requirements
- Work assigned shifts, including days, nights, or weekends as needed
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver’s license
- Five years of heavy truck or diesel maintenance experience preferred
- Must possess your own hand tools
- Ability to use computer systems for maintenance documentation
- Must pass a pre-employment physical
