Job Summary
Diagnoses, repairs, reconditions, and adjusts key systems and components of trucks and related equipment.
Job LevelSenior-level position: generally more than six years of experience and/or demonstrated job-relevant knowledge/skills. A level three technician has a broad knowledge of the field's standard and technical concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of standard, complex, and technical tasks; is self-starting and requires minimal supervision.

- Troubleshoots and diagnoses complex engine malfunctions and failures with direction and minimum supervision.
- Performs detailed engine and related equipment repairs on trucks and trailers with direction and minimum supervision.
- Disassembles, inspects, determines parts required, and reassembles to factory specifications within TRGs.
- Provides quality control/assurance inspections of completed tasks to include road testing.
- Uses computers and related software to assist in diagnosing and reprograming engines.
- Completes documentation for service reports, timecards, parts requisition and returns.
- Interprets and utilizes information from operating, maintenance, online resources, and service manuals/bulletins.
- Operates equipment and vehicles with possession of all necessary licenses and certificates.
- Adheres to contamination control and HAZMAT rules and regulations.
- Maintains all company equipment, tools, and vehicle in a good, clean, and working order.
- Communicates job progress to supervisor and customer as needed.
- Works overtime as required by workload and customers' needs.
- Projects professionalism with both internal and external customers, including personal appearance.
- Acts as a mentor and coach to lower level Technicians.
- Completes all assigned Technician Training Path courses and safety training.
- Consistently maintains an average rework of less than 0.5%.
- Ensures a positive average variance consistently.
- Works safely at all times and adheres to all applicable safety policies; complies with all company policies, procedures, and standards.
- Requires regular and punctual employee attendance.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Ability to meet all requirements as outlined in Leveling Description Guide to include Basic Requirements, Electrical System, Engine Systems, and Rear Differential.
- Ability to meet all technical and performance requirements for a level one and level two technician.
- Extensive knowledge of equipment and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
- Expert knowledge and proficiency with current computer software, related hardware, and electronic systems diagnostic tooling.
