Responsibilities

+ Conduct physical plant inspections, read field gauges and meters, and record operational logs.

+ Start up and shut down machinery, adjusting parameters in the field and coordinating with control room staff.

+ Prepare equipment for safe maintenance by tagging and locking out systems (LOTO), and operate heavy tools like forklifts or manlifts.

+ Transfer bulk plant chemicals and run routine chemistry tests on steam and cooling systems.

Requirements

+ High school diploma, military service, or a technical/trade school equivalent.

+ Strong mechanical aptitude with a basic grasp of math, electricity, and chemistry.

+ Ability to work rotating shifts, holidays, overtime, and handle outside work in varying weather.
