Calpine Corporation seeks an experienced IC&E Technician III to support safe, reliable operation of our natural gas-fired and geothermal power plants. In this field-based role, you will maintain, troubleshoot, and repair complex instrumentation, controls, and electrical systems that drive critical generation assets. Responsibilities include calibrating field instruments, supporting DCS/PLC operation, performing preventive and corrective maintenance, and interpreting P&IDs and schematics. You'll collaborate with operations and engineering teams, follow rigorous safety and environmental standards, and contribute to continuous improvement at a leading cleaner-energy power producer.
Responsibilities
- Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot instrumentation, controls, and electrical systems for gas-fired and geothermal power plants
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on field instruments, DCS/PLC systems, and electrical equipment
- Calibrate, test, and document performance of transmitters, analyzers, control valves, and protection systems
- Support plant startups, shutdowns, and reliability projects to maximize uptime and efficiency
- Interpret P&IDs, loop sheets, electrical schematics, and technical manuals
- Use digital diagnostic tools and CMMS to track work orders, parts, and maintenance history
- Adhere to strict safety, lockout/tagout, and environmental compliance procedures
- Collaborate with operations, engineering, and vendors to resolve complex system issues
- Participate in root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives
- Provide technical guidance to junior technicians and support training efforts

- Use of CMMS software
