Maldonado Nursery & Landscaping is seeking an exceptional Landscape & Irrigation Site Supervisor to oversee all landscape maintenance, irrigation operations, and site enhancement activities for a high-profile industrial property in Corpus Christi, Texas. This individual will serve as the primary on-site leader and company representative, ensuring the property consistently exceeds client expectations through exceptional attention to detail, proactive communication, and outstanding operational execution.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with strong horticultural and irrigation expertise, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to manage crews, subcontractors, budgets, and special projects while maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Lead all daily landscape maintenance activities to ensure the property is maintained at an exceptional level.
  • Perform regular inspections identifying opportunities for improvement before issues become visible to the client.
  • Maintain premium landscape appearance including turf, shrubs, trees, flowers, seasonal color, mulch, and hardscape areas.
  • Develop and execute seasonal maintenance plans.
  • Ensure all work meets company quality standards and client expectations.
Irrigation Management
  • Oversee operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of complex irrigation systems.
  • Monitor irrigation performance and water usage for efficiency.
  • Perform irrigation audits and implement water conservation strategies.
  • Coordinate repairs and system upgrades.
  • Ensure all controllers, valves, pumps, sensors, and backflow devices are functioning properly.
Client Relations
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for the client.
  • Maintain consistent, professional communication regarding site conditions, upcoming work, and recommendations.
  • Respond quickly to client requests and concerns.
  • Build trust through proactive communication and exceptional customer service.
  • Conduct regular property walks with the client when required.
Special Projects
  • Manage enhancement projects from planning through completion.
  • Coordinate vendors and subcontractors.
  • Develop project schedules.
  • Ensure projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget.
  • Track labor, materials, and equipment costs throughout each project.
Budget & Financial Management
  • Manage annual and project-specific operating budgets.
  • Monitor labor productivity and material usage.
  • Control expenses while maintaining premium quality standards.
  • Identify opportunities for operational efficiencies.
  • Review invoices and approve purchases as authorized.
  • Assist in forecasting maintenance and enhancement expenditures.
Leadership & Team Development
  • Lead, coach, and mentor landscape crews.
  • Conduct daily safety meetings.
  • Maintain a culture of accountability, professionalism, and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure all employees follow company safety policies and procedures.
  • Assist with hiring, training, and performance evaluations.
Quality Assurance
  • Conduct detailed property inspections daily.
  • Maintain corrective action lists.
  • Ensure all deficiencies are corrected promptly.
  • Maintain detailed documentation including reports, photos, and inspection records.
  • Continuously seek opportunities to improve site appearance.
Requirements

Required Qualifications
  • Minimum 7 years of commercial landscape management experience.
  • Minimum 5 years supervising landscape maintenance crews.
  • Strong knowledge of:
    • Commercial landscape maintenance
    • Irrigation systems and troubleshooting
    • Texas horticulture
    • Turf management
    • Plant health care
  • Experience managing project budgets.
  • Experience leading enhancement or capital improvement projects.
  • Valid Texas Driver License with clean driving record.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Proficient with Aspire, Autodesk Build, and Microsoft Office and mobile technology.
