The Rail Terminal Operator will support industrial rail operations at customer terminals and facilities. This role is responsible for safely moving, positioning, and securing railcars to support daily loading, unloading, and outbound rail movements. The position works closely with facility personnel and supervision to maintain safe, efficient operations.

- Perform railcar switching, spotting, and positioning within an industrial facility.
- Set and release hand brakes and verify railcar couplings.
- Organize inbound, outbound, loaded, and empty railcars per switch lists or track assignments.
- Assist with railcar loading and unloading operations as required.
- Conduct railcar inspections and gauging when applicable.
- Maintain accurate records of rail movements and activities.
- Identify and report unsafe conditions or operational concerns.
- Follow all safety procedures, site rules, and PPE requirements.
- Maintain a professional presence at customer facilities.
- Perform additional duties as needed to support operations.
Job Skills
- Ability to work safely outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Ability to wear PPE without restriction.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow procedures.
- Ability to work on-call and rotating shifts, including days, nights, weekends and holidays.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Valid driver's license and current auto insurance.
- TWIC card (or ability to obtain, depending on job site).
- Prior rail switching, terminal, or industrial experience a plus, but not required.
- Appropriate motor vehicle record with no more than three minor moving violations; no drug-or alcohol related offenses; and no serious/major moving violations.
