Truck Jockey

Position Overview

Truck Jockey – responsible for operating fleet equipment within the Distribution Center, ensuring efficient loading and transportation of pallets while adhering to safety regulations and company procedures.

Hours:

Monday – Friday, 1p.m. until job is complete.
• Starting pay: $21.25 per hour.
• Benefits: weekly pay; branded uniforms; free beer throughout the year (Root beer for those under 21).

• Drive fleet equipment safely in and out of the warehouse, applying knowledge of commercial driving regulations and maneuvering skills.
• Adhere to company safety policy; complete pre‑trip daily equipment inspections; maintain batteries and fuel.
• Assist DC loading team with staging, moving, and loading pallets onto trucks as directed by the Manager.
• Visually verify pallets for accuracy and secure product to prevent damage during transport.
• Follow product handling procedures; properly handle damaged product, returns, and dunnage.
• Ensure refrigeration units are functioning; report any issues to the Shift Manager.
• Work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

• Minimum 18 years of age.
• Ability to read, understand English, and perform basic math.
• Texas ClassA CDL and valid driver’s license.
• High school graduate or equivalent certification (preferred).
• Effective communication skills.

• Stand and walk for extended periods.
• Pull/push loads up to 100lbs.
• Off‑premise and transfer drivers: heavy repetitive lifting of up to 55lbs.
• On‑premise drivers: heavy repetitive lifting of up to 165lbs.
• Operate in extreme temperatures, noisy and crowded environments.
• Drive vehicles during the workday.
• Perform extensive bending, stooping, squatting, kneeling, crouching, crawling, ladder and stair climbing.
• Use a computer for email, data entry, and other documentation.
• Maintain up‑to‑date driver’s license and comply with safety policies.
• Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
