Position Summary
A Distribution Center (DC) Manager is responsible for overseeing all warehouse activities, managing day‑to‑day operations, and fostering a positive team environment to maximize efficiency at Andrews Distributing Company.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee and manage daily distribution center activities.
- Monitor customer order fulfillment activities to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
- Ensure proper rotation, handling, and quality control of all product in the DC, keg vault, and trucks to minimize damages and preserve quality.
- Manage the handling, rework, documentation, storage, and disposal of damaged and out‑of‑date product.
- Oversee the truck check‑in process at the end of each delivery day, ensuring all returned product and empty packages are handled according to established processes.
- Monitor the receipt and storage of incoming product and the distribution center space utilization; make corrections as needed.
- Communicate with Delivery, Sales and Shared Services teams for all DC‑related activities and issues.
- Maintain the security and condition of all beer and other merchandise in inventory.
- Prepare and update required daily and weekly reports.
- Promote a safety‑oriented culture and correct unsafe situations in a timely fashion.
- Ensure distribution center operations adhere to company policies, procedures, and programs.
- Ensure all related equipment is properly maintained.
- Ensure the distribution center is clean and organized at all times.
- Interview, train, evaluate, and develop DC team members.
- Interview and select new team members as required.
- Ensure all new team members are properly trained and coached for their individual roles.
- Ensure team member safety and compliance training is completed in a timely manner and training records are maintained.
- Provide timely coaching and feedback to DC team members.
- High School Graduate or Equivalent Certificate.
- Five plus years of distribution experience.
- One to three years of supervisory experience.
- Strong communication skills.
- Strong understanding of Warehouse Management Systems.
- Forklift and equipment experience and certification.
- Preferred:
Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain, Logistics or other related field. - Preferred:
Ability to influence others. - Preferred:
Class A CDL license.
- Stand and walk for extended periods of time.
- Pull/push a load up to 70 lbs.
- Heavy and repetitive lifting/placement of products.
- Bend, stoop, squat, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb ladders and stairs, stand, walk, and turn/pivot frequently.
- Tolerate working in environments with inside/outside ambient/extreme temperatures.
- Must be able to work in noisy and crowded environments.
- Driving may be required during the workday.
- Operate facility equipment required for the role.
- Use a personal computer for tasks such as communicating via email, preparing reports, and using company and industry software.
- Effective use of hand‑eye coordination, fine manipulation skills to operate computers and facility machinery.
- Adhere to company safety policies and best practices.
- Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
- Weekly pay, every Friday.
- Branded uniforms.
- Free beer throughout the year (root beer for those under 21).
