Description
SUMMARY:
This role is responsible for developing, implementing, and sustaining robust quality systems that support the design, launch, and ongoing optimization of zero-defect (0 PPM) products and manufacturing processes. It requires a driven and detail-oriented candidate with a strong passion for continuous improvement and operational excellence. The ideal candidate is a proactive problem solver who partners cross-functionally to drive defect prevention, root cause resolution, and process improvement initiatives.
Using Lean, Six Sigma, and data-driven methodologies, the Sr. Quality Engineer will help ensure customer satisfaction, improve process capability, and support world-class quality performance
ExperienceEXPERIENCE/
SKILLS:
• IATF 16949 Quality System (VDA 6.3 also helpful)
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Products.
• Possess strong organizational and communication skills
• Strong Automotive New Product Launch experience preferred
• Structured adherence to APQP
• Proven engineering leadership (Blueprints, Strong GD&T, SPC)
• PPAP (GRR, MSA, IMDS, PFD, PFMEA, CP. Etc.)
• Metrology and gage calibration systems
• CAPA (8D, PDCA, RCA, 5
Why, Ishikawa)
• Effective and compelling communication skills (Presentation, verbal, written skills)
• College or technical degree with 3-5 years QE experience, or 10 year experience in equivalent QE role, preferably in plastic injection molding applications (automotive and non-automotive)
• CAD (Solidworks or similar) experience a plus
ResponsibilitiesRESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to the following:
• Lead quality planning and risk management process for new product launches
• Communicate with customers in a proactive style (Establish ongoing positive dialog for continual customer satisfaction)
• Some travel to visit customer facilities
• Designing and implementing simple and effective systems, work instructions and mistake-proofing methods for improved customer satisfaction and reducing waste
• Develop and maintain inspection plans, process flow diagrams, and Control Plans to ensure quality parameters are continuously monitored during manufacturing.
• Lead root cause analysis (RCA), corrective and preventive actions (CAPA), and implement continuous improvement initiatives for product and process non-conformances
• Monitoring production process data in order to identify and prioritize continual improvement opportunities aimed at improved customer satisfaction, reduced waste and measurable cost savings.
• Statistical tools and Data Analysis
