Radiologic Technologist / CT Tech
LECOM Health Corry Memorial Hospital is searching for a radiologic technologist to perform diagnostic imaging procedures to assist physicians in the diagnosis and treatment of injuries and medical conditions. Responsible for providing safe, high-quality patient care while operating radiographic imaging equipment and maintaining compliance with radiation safety standards.
- Review patient charts to confirm requested imaging order and clinical history are correct.
- Interview patients to verify identity, retrieve necessary medical information and screen for safety risks.
- Explain imaging procedures clearly to patients and to reduce anxiety and secure cooperation.
- Position patients accurately on the examination table to capture required imagining.
- Maintain an image reject percentage of 5% or less as determined by image analysis.
- Immobilize patients gently when necessary to prevent movement and image blurring.
- Safely administer contrast media in accordance with departmental policies and physician orders.
- Operate advanced diagnostic machinery including mobile digital X-ray, C-Arms and CT scanners.
- Adhere to ALARA principles and radiation safety standards.
- Calibrate equipment settings such as voltage, current, and exposure time per protocol.
- Wear and maintain personal dosimeter badges to monitor radiation exposure levels.
- Evaluate completed images in a timely manner to ensure optimal quality.
- Sanitize imaging tables, structural surfaces, and lead aprons after every patient.
- Maintain accurate documentation within the electronic health record and PACS systems.
- Document patient history, procedural notes, and exam data in electronic health records.
- Complete and charge exams, contrast, and materials accurately.
- Report any imaging equipment malfunction to the Radiology Manager or any department equipment errors to maintenance, IT, or appropriate personnel.
- Complete appropriate checklist when assigned to specific modalities.
- Stock examination rooms with necessary medical, contrast, and hygiene supplies.
- Collaborate virtually with radiologists to ensure a high standard of patient care is maintained.
- Maintain AART licensure and continuing education requirements.
- Must attend all required staff meetings.
- Performs other duties as directed by the manager.
