Spot Welder 3rd Shift

Overview

MIG Welder for cabinets and racks fabricates, assembles, and welds metal components using Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW) techniques based on blueprints and customer specifications. Duties include operating welding equipment, ensuring structural integrity, finishing surfaces (grinding/sanding), and adhering to safety protocols in a warehouse production environment. Manage wire feed, gas flow, and voltage to meet quality and efficiency standards.

• Fabrication & Welding:
  Perform MIG welding on sheet metal and structural components, using jigs and fixtures to maintain accuracy and minimize distortion.
• Technical Interpretation:
  Read and interpret blueprints, engineering specifications, and weld symbols to plan procedures.
• Equipment Setup:
  Adjust welder settings including voltage, amperage, wire feed speed, and shielding gas flow.
• Preparation & Finishing:
  Clean and prepare surfaces; grind or sand and finish welded parts.
• Quality Control:
  Inspect completed joints for defects (porosity, cracks) to meet strength and cosmetic standards.
• Safety & Maintenance:
  Adhere to 5S standards, maintain a clean workspace, and perform basic machine maintenance.

• Experience:
  
  1+ years of industrial welding experience.
• Skills:
  
  Ability to read blueprints, read/write and understand verbal instructions; proficiency in GMAW/MIG techniques; knowledge of metal properties.
• Physical:
  Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, push, bend, pull, stand for long periods, and work in varied temperatures.
• Education:
  
  High school diploma or GED; technical school training is preferred.

MIG welding machines and torches. Plasma cutters, grinders, sanders, measuring tools, calipers, clamps, jigs and fixtures.

Long pants, short sleeves, no rips or tears, steel-toed shoes, safety glasses with side shields, welding helmet; respirator mask and safety gloves as needed.
