Position Function:

The Operations Manager helps oversee processes and improvements based on a variety of production needs. This position will assist directing the production team in daily manufacturing of existing products and processes, while working on the development of new processes, customer support, and purchasing.

The Operation Manager is responsible for the continual maintenance of a safe working environment, funding upkeep of production lines, as well as daily/monthly KPI’s sheet planning/result.

Primary Roles and

Responsibilities Include:
  • Oversee environmental (hazardous and nonhazardous waste streams), health, and safety precautions.
  • Ensure output meets quality standards.
  • Negotiate contracts with various suppliers to keep the business profitable.
  • Monitor production to resolve issues.
  • Monitor and maintain quality program including annual ISO recertification and customer audits.
  • Organize workflow to meet specifications and deadlines.
  • Inspect materials, products, or equipment to detect defects or malfunctions.
  • Observe work and monitor gauges, dials, and other indicators to ensure that operators conform to production or processing standards.
  • Conduct employee training in equipment operations or work and safety procedures or assign employee training to experienced workers.
  • Interpret specifications, blueprints, job orders, and company policies and procedures for workers.
  • Plan and establish work schedules, assignments, and production sequences to meet production goals.
  • Confer with other departments to coordinate operations and activities.
  • Motivating, supporting and providing guidance to production, quality, and shipping/receiving staff.
  • Evaluating machine resources to ensure production and minimal downtime.
Requirements

Personal

Qualifications:

  • 4-year degree in Process Engineering or Manufacturing preferred.
  • Experience with purchasing.
  • Ability to manage staff and follow through on deadlines and goals.
  • Ability to motivate staff at all levels.
  • Ability to work well with other people, both externally and internally.
  • Ability to pass background check and drug screen.
  • Ability to read blueprints, knowledge of machines, Statistical Process Control (SPC), Failure Analysis, and engineering metrics.
