JOB DESCRIPTION
The Powder Coating & Assembly Supervisor is responsible for leading and coordinating all powder coating and assembly operations to ensure production goals, quality standards, safety requirements, and delivery schedules are achieved. This position provides leadership to hourly team members, promotes continuous improvement, and ensures compliance with company policies and manufacturing best practices.
- Supervise and coordinate daily activities of the 3rd shift powder coating and assembly departments.
- Lead, coach, and develop employees while fostering a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
- Ensure production schedules are met while maintaining quality and efficiency standards.
- Monitor workflow and staffing levels to maximize productivity and minimize downtime.
- Conduct shift start-up meetings and communicate production priorities, safety topics, and quality expectations.
- Ensure all powder coating processes meet customer specifications for coating quality, color, thickness, and finish.
- Monitor assembly operations to ensure products are built accurately according to engineering drawings and work instructions.
- Perform regular quality inspections and address defects through corrective actions.
- Ensure compliance with all OSHA regulations, environmental requirements, and company safety policies.
- Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses and implement corrective actions.
- Coordinate with Maintenance to resolve equipment issues and reduce production interruptions.
- Work closely with Production Planning, Engineering, Quality, and other departments to resolve manufacturing concerns.
- Monitor labor utilization, overtime, scrap, and production efficiencies.
- Train new employees and provide ongoing coaching and performance feedback.
- Complete employee performance evaluations and assist with disciplinary actions when necessary.
- Maintain accurate production reports, shift documentation, attendance records, and other required documentation.
- Support Lean Manufacturing, 5S, and continuous improvement initiatives.
