JOB DESCRIPTION
The 3rd Shift Form/Brake Press Supervisor is responsible for leading and overseeing all brake press and forming operations during the overnight shift. This position ensures production goals, quality standards, safety requirements, and employee performance expectations are achieved while maintaining efficient workflow in a fast-paced metal fabrication environment. The supervisor provides leadership, coaching, and technical support to brake press operators and works closely with engineering, quality, maintenance, and scheduling to ensure on-time delivery of quality products.
- Supervise and lead all 3rd shift brake press and forming personnel.
- Ensure daily production schedules are completed safely, efficiently, and on time.
- Monitor production metrics including productivity, efficiency, scrap, downtime, and labor utilization.
- Verify operators are using correct tooling, programs, setup procedures, and work instructions.
- Maintain compliance with all quality standards, customer specifications, and company procedures.
- Perform regular quality inspections throughout production to ensure dimensional accuracy.
- Investigate and resolve production issues while minimizing downtime.
- Coordinate machine setups and changeovers to maximize equipment utilization.
- Collaborate with Engineering regarding new product launches, tooling, and process improvements.
- Partner with Maintenance to address equipment issues and schedule preventive maintenance.
- Promote and enforce all safety policies and OSHA regulations.
- Conduct daily shift meetings and communicate production priorities.
- Train, mentor, and develop employees on equipment operation, quality expectations, safety practices, and standard work.
- Complete employee performance evaluations, coaching, attendance management, and corrective actions as necessary.
- Assist in interviewing, hiring, and onboarding new team members.
- Maintain accurate production reports, labor tracking, and shift documentation.
- Support Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement initiatives including 5S, waste reduction, and process optimization.
- Ensure proper housekeeping and organization throughout the department.
- Foster a positive, respectful, and accountable team culture.

- High school diploma or GED required.
- Associate degree in Manufacturing, Engineering Technology, Business, or related field preferred.
- Minimum 3-5 years of brake press or metal fabrication experience.
- Minimum 2 years of manufacturing leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
- Strong understanding of Brake press operations, tooling, setups, bend deductions, and blueprint interpretation.
- Experience reading engineering drawings and fabrication specifications.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles.
