Job Title: Multi‑Craft Maintenance Technician
Location: Sheet Meal Fabrication
Department: Maintenance
Reports To: Maintenance Supervisor / Maintenance Manager
Job Summary: The Multi‑Craft Maintenance Technician is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining production and facility equipment in a sheet metal fabrication environment. This role requires broad expertise across mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and basic automation systems to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable plant operations.
Key Responsibilities- Maintenance & Repair
- Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on equipment
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electromechanical failures
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, hydraulic diagrams, P&IDs, and mechanical drawings
- Install, align, and rebuild industrial equipment
- Work closely with operations, engineering, and maintenance planning teams
- Support production startup, changeovers, and emergency repairs
- Safety & Compliance
- Follow all safety procedures including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), hot work, confined space, and fall protection
- Maintain compliance with OSHA, plant safety standards, and environmental regulations
- Participate in safety audits, job hazard analyses, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Continuous Improvement
- Identify recurring equipment issues and recommend corrective actions or upgrades
- Support reliability-centered maintenance initiatives
- Document maintenance activities accurately in the CMMS
- Education & Experience
- High school diploma or GED required
- 3–7+ years of multi‑craft maintenance experience in steel, metal processing, or heavy manufacturing
- Technical Skills
- Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting capability
- Working knowledge of industrial hydraulics and pneumatics; welding/fabrication (MIG, Stick preferred); bearings, lubrication systems, and alignment
- Basic PLC troubleshooting experience required
- Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly and more with assistance
- Ability to climb ladders, work at heights, and work in confined spaces
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and kneel for extended periods
