Sanitation Employee Responsibilities
As a Sanitation Employee, you will engage in continuous learning, tackle new challenges, and maintain a strong attention to detail. Your responsibilities will include breaking down and sanitizing machinery, ensuring all allergens are thoroughly cleaned from designated areas, and performing general sanitation of plant equipment. The ideal candidate possesses a passion for cleanliness, enjoys staying active while working, and is dedicated to upholding a safe and sanitary environment.
- Disassemble and/or clean and sanitize equipment per RSC guidelines to ensure FDA standards are maintained in the plant.
- Request, receive, deliver, secure, and maintain products and materials required to do the job.
- Operate and maintain machinery, equipment, and tools in a safe and proficient manner according to guidelines, standards, and instructions.
- Read and understand sanitation specifications established by RSC and follow them with supervision.
- Perform other clean‑up activities assigned by the supervisor.
- Conform to rules.
- Reassemble plant machinery to prepare for each day’s production.
- Ensure plant floor is 5S compliant before each production day.
- Adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) to ensure product quality and maintain compliance with food‑safety standards.
- Complete and follow FSQA training and programs to comply with regulatory requirements, ensure consumer safety, and support the plant’s food‑safety and quality objectives.
- Promptly report and take appropriate action on any observed or potential food‑safety hazards, process deviations, or non‑conformities by notifying the designated plant supervisor in accordance with your role and responsibilities.
- Actively contribute to the continuous improvement of the company’s Food Safety Culture through engagement and actions aligned with your role.
- 18 years of age or older.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to speak, read, and write English fluently, with or without an accommodation.
- Experience in an industrial cleaning environment.
- Ability to routinely and frequently stand, stoop, bend, and lift overhead.
- Ability to stand on hard surfaces.
- High School diploma or GED.
- Two or more years in a manufacturing facility.
- A passion for cleaning.
