Job Overview
As a Field Merchandiser, you'll work independently to showcase your organization and time management skills, establish retailer relationships, and be the face of Hallmark. You will collaborate with local store teams to optimize product placement and maintain inventory levels, support fellow team members with seasonal resets and installations when needed, and may occasionally work with other products from other companies in the stores you service.
Salary& Schedule Details
- Your starting hourly pay rate will be $12.50–$14.50 depending on your skills and experience.
- We provide paid training, delivered through live, hands‑on instruction as well as virtual classroom training.
- Hallmark part‑time employees are offered voluntary benefits that include medical, dental, vision, critical illness, accident insurance, hospital indemnity and minimum essential coverage (preventive care).
- Eligible employees receive annual pay increases.
- This is a part‑time position with a variable schedule during the work week.
- Average weekly hours for this position are between 6–8 hours.
- Availability the week before and after major holidays, which may include weekends, is required.
- Availability to support season changeovers, extended services, installations, and inventory support.
- Day‑to‑day engagement:
Using a mobile device provided by Hallmark, restock, organize, and monitor the inventory of Hallmark products within and outside the Hallmark department. Use technology to communicate with your supervisor, report time, provide feedback, and answer surveys for required merchandising activities. Interact professionally and courteously with store employees, management, and customers. You are responsible for the entire Hallmark product display at your assigned stores. - Holiday support:
During peak seasonal periods such as Valentine's Day, Easter, Mother's Day, Father's Day, Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas, expect additional days and extended hours. On certain holidays you may be required to work on the actual holiday, including weekends. - Department resets:
Occasionally join a team for installations and various tasks such as building and installing Hallmark fixtures, relocating card departments and products, and resetting card sections. Typical advance notice is two weeks, and assignments may involve evenings or weekends. - Team collaboration:
As part of Hallmark's field organization, you are part of a network of merchandisers who support each other in their territories.
This is a physically demanding job that requires a high level of energy and a sense of urgency. You will work on the selling floor and back stockrooms, consistently pushing, pulling, lifting, and carrying cartons, merchandise, and display fixtures up to 30 pounds, and up to 50 pounds on occasion. You will also kneel, squat, walk, stand, and may be required to climb stairs and step ladders throughout the workday.
BasicQualifications
- At least 18 years of age.
- Proficient in reading, writing, and understanding English.
- Ability to grasp, pull, lift, and carry products up to 30 pounds frequently and 50 pounds occasionally.
- Able to operate a digital hand‑held device for opening and reading documents.
- Access to Wi‑Fi and internet.
- Reliable transportation to travel to and between assigned stores on a scheduled basis.
