About the roleWe are looking to add a Security Officer to our growing Security Department . As a Security Officer
, you will be responsible for providing a safe environment for our Riot Employees. This on‑site position will directly support our security operations at our Corsicana, TX facility.
- Carry out safety and security procedures, site‑specific policies and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
- Report security violations and questionable activities, monitors facilities for damages from vandalism.
- Patrol the property by motorized vehicle and/or foot to prevent crimes, enforce rules and protect workforce and property.
- Monitor and authorize entrance of vehicles or people in the property.
- Secure all exits, doors and windows after end of operations.
- Respond to alarms by investigating and assessing the situation.
- Provide assistance to people in need.
- Use verbal de‑escalation techniques when necessary.
- Performs a variety of other duties assigned.
- Must maintain a high level of weapons proficiency.
- Certified in CPR/AED/First Aid (will provide if not yet certified).
- Must maintain a high standard of personal appearance and grooming, which includes wearing the proper uniform.
- Must maintain the highest level of professionalism, accountability, attention to detail, sense of urgency, and transparency.
- Works varying hours and schedules which include holidays, evenings and weekends.
- Must be able to evaluate and select among alternative courses of action quickly and accurately.
- Must be effective in handling problems in the workplace, including anticipating, preventing, identifying, and solving problems as necessary.
- Ability to think clearly, analyze and resolve problems exercising good judgment.
- Excellent surveillance and observation skills.
- Must approach all encounters in a respectful manner.
- Tech‑savvy with experience in surveillance systems.
- Self‑defense.
- Strong oral and written communication.
- Speaks, reads, and writes the English language and communicates in a clear and congenial manner, with our guests, visitors, and employees. Bi‑lingual skills are helpful but not required.
- Must pass a background check and drug screening.
- Physical fitness (required reach and grasp).
- Must have completed Level II or Level III training.
- Must have valid unexpired Non‑Commissioned officer or Commissioned Officer Certification.
- Equipment and utility failures and hazards, fire, safety violations, accidents, or injuries.
- Knowledge of or Experience with :
- Security‑related deficiencies (i.e., unsecured or damaged access barriers, inadequate or inoperative protective lighting, etc.)
- Loitering or trespassing, property crimes: (theft, vandalism, arson, sabotage, etc.), violent crimes.
- Use of intoxicants or non‑prescription narcotic drugs.
- General disturbances and unwanted or concerning behavior.
