The City of Corsicana is seeking reliable, safety-conscious individuals to serve as School Crossing Guards. In this role, you’ll help ensure the safety of children and pedestrians at designated school crossings during school arrival and dismissal times. This is a part-time, temporary position that works one hour in the mornings and one hour in the afternoons, Monday - Friday, during the Corsicana ISD school year.
- Safely guide and assist children and pedestrians at designated school crossing zones.
- Direct vehicle traffic to ensure safe pedestrian movement.
- Set up and remove traffic control aids such as cones and signage.
- Communicate effectively with children, school staff, and the general public.
- Displays professionalism and enthusiasm for the role.
- Demonstrates integrity, dependability, and maturity.
- Works cooperatively and respectfully with colleagues and the public.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for extended periods on hard surfaces.
- Must be able to use arms and hands for traffic direction.
- Capable of working outdoors in all weather conditions, including rain, extreme heat or cold, and high winds.
- Must possess adequate vision and hearing to perform duties safely and effectively.

Have and maintain a valid Texas Driver’s License and maintain a satisfactory driving record
Demonstrate regular attendance and punctuality
Pass a criminal history check, background investigation, and drug and alcohol screening to be considered for employment
