CompensationPay Rate: $33.21 - $43.05 per hour, depending on experience.
Shifts- Mon‑Fri: 7 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
The Electro‑Mechanic is the front‑line “reactive” individual trouble‑squasher and systems analyzer. Candidate must possess electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical knowledge that allows a comprehensive understanding of process and electrical controls. A strong manufacturing background with demonstrated mechanical aptitude and process troubleshooting skills is required. Ability to work independently.
Job Requirements- 2‑year Industrial Electrical Degree or equivalent experience.
- Ability to operate forklift and high‑lift equipment; welding experience desirable.
- High mechanical aptitude with proven troubleshooting and repair of electro‑mechanical equipment.
- Basic computer skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
- Flexibility to perform other duties as assigned.
- Perform or assist with major and minor electrical repairs, including 480V 3‑phase motor repairs/installation, motor starter circuit repairs, VFD drives, photo‑optic sensing devices, proximity switches, E‑Stop circuitry, and ground fault detection per Pactiv’s “Electrical Safety Program.”
- Use precision measuring tools, hand tools, and testing instruments (amp meter, ohm meter, testing lamp, megger, etc.).
- Read and interpret schematics and basic electrical symbols.
- Apply basic electrical theory, including ohm’s law.
- Troubleshoot difficult maintenance problems with emphasis on AC and DC drives, PLCs, and basic motor control circuits.
- Maintain pneumatics and hydraulic systems; clean, lubricate, and adjust equipment.
- Repair mechanical equipment and devices such as motors, conveyors, pumps, belts, chains.
- Diagnose problems by inspecting and disassembling machinery; read mechanical prints and technical data.
- Interpret PI&D drawings during installation and repair.
- 2–4 years boiler experience preferred; current Boiler Operator Certification required. Alternatively, two years as a Plant Shift Maintenance Technician or four years industrial maintenance experience with electrical and mechanical repairs.
- Knowledge of pneumatics, blue/schematic print reading (mechanical/electrical), welding, shop equipment, and fabrication.
- Electrical background with troubleshooting experience highly preferred.
- Familiarity with AC and DC drives and PLCs.
- Strong problem‑solving, electrical, and mechanical skills.
