Position Description and Responsibilities
ESS Paraprofessional/Classroom Assistant

Position Summary:
Typical Responsibilities:
Some additional responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Keep records on attendance, accidents and incidents
- Protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities
- Ensure the safety of students at all times
- Consult with Principal on responsibilities during the teacher's absence
Candidate Profile
Education, Certification, and
Experience:
- High School Diploma and/or GED AND a minimum 3 years Experience in Educational Setting (Required)
- Substitute Authorization through CDE (Preferred)
- Bachelor's Degree (Preferred)
- Experience working with students with academic struggles and minor behavior struggles (Preferred)
Essential Physical Demands:
- While performing the physical duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee may occasionally be required to run a short distance, lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to more than 100 pounds with assistance.
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
