Position Summary
The Economics Department at the State University of New York College at Cortland welcomes applications for a full-time tenure-track Assistant Professor in heterodox political economy beginning Fall 2026 to work with undergraduate majors in Business Economics, Economics, and Political Economy. Teaching responsibilities will include principles and intermediate courses, as well as a rotation of upper-level electives that reflect the candidate's research interests.
Faculty are required to sustain an active research agenda, student advisement and service to the department and college to support an equitable and diverse scholarly environment.
The successful candidate will become a part of our dynamic and expanding Economics Department, comprised of over 600 undergraduate majors. Our diverse curriculum supports majors in economics and business economics, as well as our emerging interdisciplinary programs in entrepreneurship and healthcare management. Salary Range: $84,100 to $88,300

Major Responsibilities
Teaching
Teach courses in principles and intermediate economics, as well as a rotation of upper-level electives that reflect the candidate's research interests.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Faculty are required to maintain regular office hours and provide regular advising and mentoring interaction with students in support of an equitable and diverse scholarly environment.
Functional and Supervisory Relationships
* Reports to the academic department chair
* Works closely with department faculty
Required Qualifications
Candidate must possess Ph.D. or if ABD, degree must be completed by time of initial review for reappointment.
