Writing Center Consultant

If you're interested in a teaching profession or a profession that works with students, the experience you gain in this position will be extremely valuable and relevant. All majors are welcome to apply especially those in the sciences and social sciences. The primary responsibility for the person in this position is to support students with their writing processes and projects in one-on-one (in-person and online) sessions alongside a staff consisting of Graduate Assistants, Composition Program faculty, and the Writing Center Director.
Further responsibilities include: participating in Writing Center Consultant development and training sessions with the Writing Center Director, attending mandatory scheduled staff meetings, creating and conducting writing workshops for classes in collaboration with the Writing Center staff, and promoting the Writing Center through in-class visits. There are additional opportunities to participate in collaborative research and assessment projects if the person in the position is interested.
Days/Hours Needed - 10 – 15 hours per week

Required Qualifications
- Must be a SUNY Cortland student
Salary Grade - B-$16.50/hr.
