Job Description /Duties
Job Description
* Promote campus sustainability amongst the student body to help create a culture of sustainability at SUNY Cortland
* Increase student engagement and community building related to sustainability and sustainable practices
* Increase environmental behaviors on campus
* Planning and running programming events centered around sustainability and sustainable actions / topics
* Posters/displays in residence halls/other communication platforms (i.e. social media, newsletter, etc.)
Job Expectations
* Attend and be an active participant in weekly Green Rep meetings
* Work 10 hours a week - a portion of work expectation is attending group/project group meetings and working independently or in smaller groups.
* Hold environmentally focused programs (minimum of 3/semester)
* Assist Energy and Sustainability Engagement Coordinator with larger campus-wide Sustainability Events, including but not limited to Earth Month, Red Dragon ReUse, Corta Can Collection, etc.
* Work with fellow Green Reps in a semester-long project to develop campus infrastructure and culture surrounding sustainability
* Research, write and create informative graphics and short videos on sustainability topics to share on social media accounts and stories for the Sustainability Office newsletter
* Complete all tasks in a timely manner
* Attend training sessions (1 training per semester)

Required Qualifications
* When applying, hired and working, you must be a SUNY Cortland student.
* Effective communication skills
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively
* Ability to see project through to completion
* Ability to learn information about environmental topics and relate information to your peers
* Ability to complete tasks on-time and on deadline.
Preferred Qualifications
When applying, hired and working you are living on SUNY Cortland's campus in one of the residence halls.
