This recruitment will be used to fill multiple part-time (a maximum of 20 hours per week) Student Clerical Assistant positions for the Kid Spirit Program in the Division of Extension and Engagement at Oregon State University (OSU).
Kid Spirit’s goal is to provide a quality and safe environment for all campers, parents, and staff. Employees should always be prepared and willing to respond to the unexpected.
Responsibilities include administrative/office support for youth program instructors, camp counselors, and overall program operations. The position requires strong communication, critical thinking, teamwork, and a commitment to ongoing professional development. Tasks include lesson planning, safety response, equipment management, program promotion, and effective collaboration with staff, families, and supervisors. This role involves attention to detail, handling special projects, answering phones, processing cash and card payments, deposits, registrations, and other duties as assigned.

Program Accountability and Operations (65%)
- Assist with the creation, editing, updating and maintenance of program projects and reports; maintain a variety of schedules.
- Manage registrations.
- Answer phones and emails, manage camper pick-ups, support programs.
- Manage attendance in a timely manner, perform check in and out of participants.
- Using information technology to assist with maintaining systems or database security.
- Perform data entry functions which may include personal information.
- Processing financial transactions (cash, check and credit card payments) and making cash deposits.
- Maintain equipment and supplies inventory
- Administer first aid and activate emergency action steps if medical attention is required. May care for sick/injured students including handling medications.
Safety, First Aid & Documentation (10%)
- Monitor participant safety at all times and administer first aid when necessary.
- Initiate emergency action procedures appropriately and calmly.
