The Department of Forest Engineering, Resources and Management (FERM), within the College of Forestry, is seeking a 2 part-time (a maximum of 24 hours per week during academic terms and a maximum of 40 hours per week during academic breaks) hourly Student Clerical Worker. This position offers valuable, hands-on experience in an academic office setting while providing essential administrative support to faculty, students, and visitors.

Key responsibilities include reception duties, electronic filing, general office maintenance, monitoring the departmental email inbox, scheduling meeting rooms, ordering office supplies, and assisting with the preparation of reports and documents. The ideal candidate will be professional, detail-oriented, and possess strong communication and time-management skills. Position Duties

* Provide general administrative support to faculty, staff, students, and visitors

* Perform reception duties, including greeting visitors and answering phones

* Monitor and respond to inquiries from the departmental email inbox

* Assist with electronic filing and organization of departmental documents

* Help maintain the general cleanliness and organization of the office and general use areas in the College

* Schedule and coordinate meeting room reservations

* Order and track office supply inventory

* Assist with the preparation and formatting of reports, documents, and other materials

* Complete other clerical tasks as assigned by office staff or department leadership

* Must be academically enrolled in a high school, community college, or university and pursuing a program or course of study

* Must meet Academic Standing Requirements; students on academic suspension are not eligible for employment

* Must meet the applicable minimal enrollment standard

* High School student:
Regularly enrolled in a high school or participating in a home-schooling program

* Undergraduate and post-baccalaureate student: 6 credit hours per term

* Undergraduate international student: 12 credit hours per term
* * Graduate student officially admitted to Graduate School: 5 credit hours per term

* Graduate international student officially admitted to Graduate School: 9 credit hours per term
* * International students may be allowed to carry fewer hours than specified above and still be considered "full-time" by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). A reduced course load is approved by the Office of International Services (OIS), and must be provided to the Student Employment Center.
