This recruitment will fill five part‑time Event and Program Facilitator positions at the Patricia Valian Reser Center for the Creative Arts (PRAx) at Oregon State University. PRAx activates the power of the arts and humanities across disciplines, providing transformative experiences for students, faculty, community members, and youth. Facilitators serve as the first point of contact for visitors, artists, speakers, and rental clients, engaging them in art, performance, and museum experiences.

Position Duties Visitor Experience and Hospitality- Serve as event host with minimal oversight, attending to client needs.
- Initiate conversations that engage visitors about artwork, exhibitions, performances, and additional programming.
- Lead inspiring, educational K‑12 youth field trips (requires youth policy training).
- Represent PRAx at tabling events on or off campus.
- Facilitate successful events and rentals.
- Act as greeter and guide for PRAx VIPs as assigned.
- Serve as backup usher or ticket scanner as needed.
- Run basic AV and presentation technology in Toomey Lobby, Stirek Gallery, and classrooms.
- Follow the daily notes and run‑of‑show/event schedule.
- Set up/strike tables, chairs, and other event materials and decor.
- Follow opening and closing procedures, including providing post‑show summary information.
- Support visiting artists, speakers, and performers.
- Review daily notes and instructions for hospitality.
- Greet and introduce artists to stage crew and other staff as appropriate.
- Prepare dressing rooms and green rooms for artists and speakers according to instructions.
- Ensure artist/speaker needs are met.
- Drive the PRAx Van as assigned.
- Work across teams at PRAx, including engagements, events, gallery, and marketing.
- Bring enthusiastic, positive energy to front‑facing activities.
- Participate in creating culturally attuned materials to guide interactions with PRAx programming.
- Represent PRAx and serve as host with minimal oversight from staff.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with all PRAx staff, volunteers, partners, clients, and visitors.
