Assistant/Associate Professor of Biostatistics, Oregon State University, College of Public Health and Human Sciences

Position – The College of Public Health and Human Sciences at Oregon State University invites applications for one faculty member with expertise in Biostatistics. This position is a full-time (1.00 FTE), 9-month tenure-track appointment at the Assistant or Associate Professor level.

Qualifications – Required qualifications include: a doctoral degree in biostatistics, statistics, or closely related field; demonstrated expertise in public health as reflected by training, research, teaching and/or service aligned with the vision and mission of the College; a demonstrable commitment to high teaching standards; and a desire to work collaboratively with colleagues in the School, the College, and the University. The successful candidate will demonstrate evidence of (Associate Professor) or the potential to (Assistant Professor): develop strong independent and collaborative programs of research;

secure external funding; deliver high-quality teaching, advising, and mentoring at the undergraduate and graduate levels; and provide service to the School, College, University, and profession. Relevant post-doctoral experience, successful mentoring of junior faculty (Associate Professor), evidence of effective communication, interest and experience in online education, and a demonstrable commitment to promoting and enhancing diversity are preferred.

Responsibilities – Develop and maintain independent and collaborative research programs; consistently obtain external funding; advance the University’s research agenda in biostatistics; teach undergraduate and graduate courses in biostatistics; advise and mentor MPH and PhD students; provide service to the University, profession, and field of public health.

College – We are the only CEPH accredited College of Public Health and Human Sciences in the state of Oregon. The College is located within OSU’s Health Sciences Division along with the Colleges of Pharmacy and Veterinary Medicine. Our College has 2 Schools (Biological & Population Health Sciences and Social & Behavioral Health Sciences) comprising 9 academic programs (Biostatistics;
Epidemiology;
Environmental and Occupational Health;
Nutrition;
Global Health;
