This recruitment will fill two Public Health Educator (PHE) positions for the 2026-27 academic year (Fall, Winter, and Spring terms).

Students in this role will gain valuable experience, including professional development, networking opportunities, and specialized training.

Position Details

* Approximately 10 hours per week max

* Anticipated hourly rate: $17.30

* Reports to the Wellness Specialist in the Office of Student Health & Wellness

* Students with Work Study as part of their financial aid package are welcome to apply

Position Duties

Weekly Duties Breakdown

* 5 hours:
Office hours, event preparation, and execution

* 2 hours:
Weekly PHE team and individual check-ins

* 1 hour:
Collaboration with team and community partners

* 1 hour:
Promotion and digital communication tasks

* 1 hour:
Administrative tasks (e.g., safer sex spot and brochure restocking)

Program Development and Campus Representation (50%)

* Lead yearlong subcommittee initiatives by planning, initiating, managing, and completing projects using creative, inclusive, and evidence‑based strategies. Establish measurable objectives, manage designated budgets, and assess program outcomes. Initiative focus areas may include Mental Health & Well‑Being, Harm Reduction (Alcohol & Other Drugs), Sexual Health, or Nutrition and Fitness.

* Represent the Office of Student Health and Wellness by maintaining a positive personal brand in alignment with OSU and personal career values.

* Support departmental events by assisting with resource fairs, classroom presentations, and other core programs.

* Gather and analyze resources and feedback from multiple cultural perspectives to make inclusive decisions.

* Serve as a positive role model by demonstrating confidence, professionalism, and an optimistic attitude.

* Effectively manage multiple tasks in a fast‑paced environment.

* Arrive prepared, engaged, and ready to contribute.

Engagement (20%)

* Demonstrate accountability for individual and team responsibilities and deliverables.

* Seek guidance and ask appropriate questions of supervisors, specialists, and team members.

* Contribute to team goals through clear communication and problem-solving.
