Appointment Type:
Professional Faculty
The Office of Dean of Students (ODOS) and Office of Advocacy (OA) are seeking an Assistant Director of Office of Advocacy. This is a full‑time (1.00 FTE), 12‑month, professional faculty position. The Assistant Director supports the mission of ODOS and OA to reduce barriers to student success by providing advocacy, guidance, and support to students navigating complex institutional processes and challenges. The role provides direct support through individualized consultation, case management, and coordinated efforts to help students understand individual student rights, university policies and procedures, navigate institutional resources, and develop the skills and confidence to make informed decisions.
The Assistant Director contributes to larger educational and developmental priorities by collaborating with departments across the university to address systemic barriers impeding student success. This includes identifying trends in student concerns, participating in policy and process review, and supporting outreach, training, and prevention initiatives that promote awareness of student rights, responsibilities, and available support services.
In addition to direct student support, the Assistant Director plays a key role in managing the day‑to‑day operations of the Office of Advocacy.
