Position SummaryThis recruitment will fill part‑time (20–24 hours per week) Learning Assistant Level 2 positions for the College of Science at Oregon State University (OSU). Successful applicants will be contacted as positions become available.
Position DutiesLevel 2 Learning Assistants assist student success in multiple settings: 60–75% of the time working with students in group learning settings with LA faculty present (classrooms, help sessions, office hours, online); 15% preparing for facilitation by meeting with course faculty, reviewing/completing course materials, and completing one‑time orientation; 10–20% performing other duties such as independent office hours, mentoring Level 1 LAs, facilitating LA interviews, or participating in LA program events.

Must be academically enrolled in a high school, community college, or university and pursuing a program or course of study. Must meet Academic Standing Requirements; students on academic suspension are not eligible. Must meet applicable minimal enrollment standard:
High school student – regularly enrolled in a high school or homeschooling program;
Undergraduate/post‑baccalaureate student – 6 credit hours per term;
Undergraduate international student – 12 credit hours per term;
Graduate student officially admitted to Graduate School – 5 credit hours per term;
Graduate international student officially admitted to Graduate School – 9 credit hours per term. International students may be allowed to carry fewer hours but must have a reduced course load approved by the Office of International Services and provided to the Student Employment Center.
Required Qualifications
• Successful completion of disciplinary courses (e.g., PH 201, BI 221) or equivalent by start date.
• Successful completion of Learning Assistant Pedagogy Course or equivalent by start date.
• Prior COS Level 1 experience or equivalent.
• Must have applied and been accepted to become a Learning Assistant through the OSU LA Application (applications become available during week 4 of Fall, Winter, and Spring terms).
