Position Title: Instructor

Appointment Type: Academic Faculty (fixed-term, non-tenure-track)

Location: OSU Corvallis campus (shared office at Furman Hall, possible travel to Portland)

Job Summary

The College of Education invites applications for one or more fixed-term, non‑tenure-track instructor positions to teach on a term-by-term basis for the Spring and Fall terms in the 2026 academic year. These appointments may be reviewed for renewal or transition to a permanent instructional position. Qualified candidates will be contacted when positions become available.

The purpose of this position: To develop and deliver courses for the College of Education’s Education and Teaching Majors and ESOL/Dual Language programs. Courses may be face‑to‑face, hybrid, or fully online and include multiple subject areas in undergraduate and graduate programs and graduate certificates.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and/or teach courses within the Education and Teaching major, minor, and graduate certificate programs.
  • Participate in necessary training and meetings to develop, maintain, and teach with appropriate technologies in OSU’s learning management system (Canvas).
  • Deliver courses that promote experiential learning and success for students from varied backgrounds.
What You Will Need
  • Earned Master’s degree in Education or a closely related field for 100–500 level courses.
  • Earned Doctorate degree in Education or a closely related field for 600 level courses.
  • Documented experience teaching, training, or facilitating learning or developing curriculum in the course content area.
  • For teaching in teacher licensure programs, at least five years of documented teaching experience in K–12 public schools.
  • For teaching in the EDU MS, education background, teaching license, and teaching experience should be in mathematics and/or science at the secondary level.
What We Would Like You to Have
  • Doctorate degree in Education or a closely related field for any course level.
  • Experience developing and/or teaching courses using blended technologies and formats (e.g., hybrid, online).
  • Teaching experience at the college or university level.
  • For teaching in the EDU MS, experience teaching online and working with master’s students.
  • Demonstrated ability to design, teach, and assess courses that support inclusive learning principles and promote equitable teaching practices.
Working Conditions / Work Schedule

Shared office space is provided in Furman Hall at OSU’s Corvallis campus. Local travel for class and faculty meetings may be required. Classes meet online and/or in‑person in Corvallis or 3–4 times per term in Portland, Oregon. Attendance at regular faculty meetings (weekly to quarterly) may be required.

Pay Method

Pay Period: 1st through the last day of the month. Pay Date:
Last working day of the month. Salary is commensurate with skills, education, and experience.
