Job Summary

Fixed-term, non-tenure track, full/part-time Instructors to teach on a term-by-term basis for the  academic year and Fall Term 2026. Some appointments may be reviewed for renewal or transition to an instructional position on an annual basis at the discretion of the Dean.

The position reports to the Executive Director for Student Success in the College of Business, providing instruction within the College’s first-year BA160 series, BA101, Professional Development and Blueprint courses.

Responsibilities include instruction, curriculum development, classroom management, academic projects within the Student Engagement curriculum, strategic planning, and fostering diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Key Responsibilities 90% – Classroom Management & Programming
  • Supports and teaches courses under the Student Engagement team.
  • Trains, supervises/mentors, and evaluates student teaching assistants.
  • Works with Student Engagement staff and faculty to implement enhanced events.
  • Creates course content, curriculum, student and team assignments, exams, grading, and facilitates classroom functions.
  • Supports onboarding of first-year and transfer students through orientation and welcome week programming.
  • Manages Innovation Nation’s student-run microbusiness projects.
  • Collaborates with Assistant Director of Student Engagement in planning programs.
  • Provides one-on-one student support.
  • Interacts with a variety of internal and external customers.
  • Contributes to social justice, equity, diversity, inclusion efforts.
10% Service

Service to the College, University, and profession. Engage in activities within the University and the profession, including contributing to College and University strategic initiatives that support DEI efforts and fostering a more inclusive community. Serve on committees, attend conferences, participate in events.

What You Will Need
  • Master’s degree in Business, Education, College Student Services and Administration, or a closely related field.
  • Experience supporting students in their personal, professional and academic pursuits.
  • Commitment to educational equity and diversity.
  • Record of effective teaching at high school or university level.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, inclusive language.
  • Excellent teamwork and collaboration skills.
  • Computer proficiency: MS Office, Outlook, etc.
  • Professional decorum and ability to learn OSU systems.
