Position Summary

This recruitment will be used to fill multiple part-time (a maximum of 20 hours per week) Student Clerical Assistant positions for the Kid Spirit Program in the Division of Extension and Engagement at Oregon State University ( OSU ). Kid Spirit’s goal is to provide a quality and safe environment for all campers, parents, and staff. Employees should always be prepared and willing to respond to the unexpected.

Administrative / office staff support youth program instructors, camp counselors and overall program operations. They are responsible for supporting youth while fostering a safe, and growth‑oriented environment. The position requires strong communication, critical thinking, teamwork, and a commitment to ongoing professional development. Responsibilities include lesson planning, safety response, equipment management, program promotion, and effective collaboration with staff, families, and supervisors.

This position requires attention to detail, taking on special projects, answering phones, taking cash and credit cards payments, deposits, registrations and other duties as assigned.

    • Assist with the creation, editing, updating and maintenance of program projects and reports; maintain a variety of schedules.
    • Manage registrations.
    • Answer phones and emails, manage camper pick-ups, support programs.
    • Manage attendance in a timely manner, perform check in and out of participants.
    • Using information technology to assist with maintaining systems or database security.
    • Perform data entry functions which may include personal information.
