The School of Chemical, Biological and Environmental Engineering (CBEE) invites applications for nine‑month, full‑time and part‑time, fixed‑term, non‑tenure‑track instructor positions to teach on a term‑by‑term basis for the 2025/2026 academic year and Fall Term 2026. Appointments may be reviewed for renewal at the discretion of the School Head. Teaching assignments may be on campus in Corvallis, OR or online via campus e‑learning.
Salary will be negotiated with the School Head.
- Develop and deliver lectures, laboratories, studios, and student projects in CBEE core courses and elective topics (e.g., material and energy balances, bioreactor design, environmental engineering labs, etc.).
- Employ evidence‑based, active, inclusive, and student‑centered teaching practices.
- Manage graduate teaching assistants and learning assistants.
- Complete required coursework, assessment tracking, and reporting processes.
- Participate in school and program meetings as needed.
- Master’s degree in Bioengineering, Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or related field.
- Teaching experience at the undergraduate level.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Demonstrated commitment to diversity and inclusive learning environments.
- Ph.D. in the field mentioned above.
- Experience as an instructor or industry trainer in technical courses.
- Familiarity with Canvas and other course‑management tools.
- Experience developing instructional materials for multi‑modal delivery.
- Experience teaching online and with hybrid formats.
- Knowledge of the Oregon State engineering curriculum.
Working conditions vary with course assignments. The position is full‑time, contingent on enrollment schedules and classroom or online delivery.
