Instructor Pool - 2025/2026 and Fall Term 2026: MIME
The School of Mechanical, Industrial, and Manufacturing Engineering (MIME) invites applications for part‑time (varied FTE), 9‑month fixed‑term Instructor positions to teach on a term‑by‑term basis for the 2025‑2026 academic year and Fall Term 2026. Some appointments may be reviewed for renewal or transition to a permanent instructional position at the discretion of the Head of School. The position will develop and/or teach undergraduate and/or graduate courses within the School of Mechanical, Industrial, and Manufacturing Engineering at Oregon State University.
Key Responsibilities- 95% Teaching and Instruction:
Prepare and/or teach courses in undergraduate and/or graduate areas, teach or coordinate instruction in laboratory, studio, or recitation settings, contribute to OSU initiatives for promoting student success and enhancing diversity. - 5% Service:
Participate in school and program meetings.
- M.S. or M.A. in mechanical engineering, industrial engineering, manufacturing engineering, or related field
- Demonstrable excellence in teaching
- Effective written and oral communication skills
- Commitment to fostering a diverse and inclusive learning environment for students
- Ph.D. in mechanical engineering, industrial engineering, manufacturing engineering, or related field
- Teaching experience at the college or university level
- Experience with online teaching
- Current Professional Engineer license for any state in the United States
- Experience with course management tools such as Canvas
- Experience teaching engineering software programs such as Python, Solid Works, NX, and On Shape
- Familiarity with the Oregon State engineering curriculum in one or more programs
