Job Summary
The Office of Financial Aid is seeking a full‑time Financial Aid Advisor to contribute to the administration of Federal Title IV, State, and Institutional financial aid programs and counsel students and families on the financial aid process.
Key Responsibilities- Process and reconcile FAFSA applications, determine eligibility, award and adjust student financial aid, and review student appeals.
- Ensure accuracy and compliance with federal, state, and institutional regulations.
- Contribute to policy and procedure writing to maintain compliance.
- Provide counseling to students, families, and university personnel on financial aid options and FAFSA completion.
- Collaborate with university services and other departments to support students needing additional resources.
- Assist with program management (e.g., Pell Grant, Federal Loan Programs, Return to Title IV) and monitor compliance.
- Perform additional duties as assigned, including attending evening and weekend events when necessary.
- At least one year of experience in higher education.
- Strong written and oral communication skills with diverse communities.
- Ability to counsel diverse students, parents, and community members.
- Commitment to exceptional customer service.
- Fluency in a second language, preferably Spanish.
- Prior experience as a financial aid advisor or in a financial aid office.
- Experience using Banner or similar financial aid systems.
- Current working knowledge of Title IV financial aid programs and regulations.

Position:
Financial Aid Advisor (Professional Faculty) – full time, 12 months, 1.00 FTE.
Location:
Oregon State University, remote or hybrid option possible. Salary commensurate with skills, education, and experience.
