Undergraduate Special Project Assistant
Position Duties - 100% Duties to be determined by hiring unit/supervisor and may include book reviews and publication research, experimentation in a laboratory setting, laboratory set-up and maintenance, data collection and analysis, and other related tasks. Other duties are performed specific to the funding and research topic. Duties may include, but are not limited to:
This position could assist PhD students and/or the professor in conducting research in EECS related fields. In addition, the student assistant could receive mentorship on design, implementation and test of multiple Electrical Engineering and Computer Science research areas.
Minimum Qualifications
- Must be academically enrolled in a high school, community college, or university and pursuing a program or course of study. Must meet Academic Standing Requirements; students on academic suspension are not eligible for employment. Must meet the applicable minimal enrollment standard. High School student:
Regularly enrolled in a high school or participating in a home-schooling program. Undergraduate and post-baccalaureate student: 6 credit hours per term. Undergraduate international student: 12 credit hours per term. Graduate student officially admitted to Graduate School: 5 credit hours per term. Graduate international student officially admitted to Graduate School: 9 credit hours per term. International students may be allowed to carry fewer hours than specified above and still be considered "full-time" by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS).
A reduced course load is approved by the Office of International Services (OIS), and must be provided to the Student Employment Center.

- Must meet the applicable minimal enrollment standards below to be considered by the educational institution she/he is attending as a diploma or degree-seeking student:
Must meet Satisfactory Academic Standing Requirements. Students who meet Satisfactory Academic Standing Requirements must have a term and cumulative GPA of 2.0 or above.
Preferred (Special) Qualifications
- Applicant must be able to communicate effectively and professionally. Attention to detail and knowledge of general lab procedures. Must be enrolled in a high school, community college, or university;
Must be engaged in academic coursework and activities that are directed at obtaining a degree (as opposed to coursework taken for personal interest or enrichment.

This undergraduate assistant position is expected to work 1-20 hours a week during academic terms. Work may be performed in various types of settings including but not limited to: offices, classrooms, and/or labs.
