Department Forest Ecosystems & Society (FOR)

Position Title Instructor Pool – Fall 2026:
Forest Ecosystems and Society

Appointment Type Academic Faculty (fixed-term, non-tenure-track)

Job Location Oregon State University – Corvallis or Bend campus or e‑campus

Job Summary The Department of Forest Ecosystems and Society invites applications for one or more fixed‑term, non‑tenure‑track full/part‑time instructors to teach on a term‑by‑term basis for the 2025‑2026 academic year. Instructors may be needed to teach any of the regularly offered courses in the Natural Resource or Tourism, Recreation, and Adventure Leadership undergraduate curriculum or graduate courses in the Masters of Natural Resources Program and Sustainable Natural Resources Programs or Forest and Climate Change Certificate Program.

These courses may be on campus or via e‑campus.

Key Responsibilities

100% – Instruction

  • Prepare and present teaching materials; create and grade assignments, quizzes, and exams; assess grades; and hold office hours as necessary.
  • Teaching assignment may be on campus or through e‑campus during the 2023‑2024 academic year.

What You Will Need

Master’s degree (M.A./M.S) or higher in Forestry, Natural Resources, environmental or related field.

Teaching experience at the college or university level.

What We Would Like You to Have

  • Evidence of teaching excellence, such as a student, peer or mentor evaluation.
  • Experience with instruction of distance education courses.
  • Demonstrated ability to design, teach, and assess courses that support inclusive learning principles and promote equitable teaching practices.

Working Conditions / Work Schedule

Will be responsible for teaching in the classroom and may conduct field trips.

Pay Method

Pay Period: 1st through the last day of the month.

Pay Date:
Last working day of the month.

Recommended Full‑Time Salary Range:
Salary is commensurate with skills, education, and experience.
