Position Overview
Part‑time (0.75 FTE), 12‑month, tenure‑track Assistant/Associate/Full Professor position in the College of Earth, Ocean, and Atmospheric Sciences (CEOAS) at Oregon State University. Appointment is expected at the Assistant Professor rank, with promotion to higher rank possible.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct interdisciplinary research on active tectonics and earthquake geology, integrating field data with analytical and computational techniques.
- Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in geology, marine geology, and related specialties.
- Build an externally funded research program and foster collaborations.
- Support college‑wide efforts to improve diversity, equity, and inclusion.
- Doctoral degree in geology or a cognate field.
- Record of high‑quality, independent scientific research in active tectonics or earthquake geology.
- Demonstrated excellence in teaching and commitment to student success.
- Commitment to equity and inclusive excellence in education, research, and outreach.
- Proficiency in oral and written English.
- Externally funded research program of high impact and longevity.
- Interdisciplinary collaboration within and beyond CEOAS.
- Engagement with communities at risk of earthquake hazards.
