Job Summary

The Department of Forest Engineering, Resources and Management invites applications for one or more 9-month, fixed-term, full/part-time Instructors to teach on a term-by-term basis for the  academic year. Some of these appointments may be reviewed for renewal or transition to an Instructor position on an annual basis at the discretion of the Department Head. The department of Forest Engineering, Resources and Management comprises a unique group of specialists in forest management, engineering, biometrics, hydrology, forest health, and silviculture working to support decisions for sustainable forests.

Our teaching and research emphasize all aspects of active forest management and restoration from regeneration through harvest for multiple land use objectives, including wood production and management for values other than wood. The mission of the Department is to develop, communicate, and teach the science and engineering necessary for sustainable management of forest, land, and water resources to achieve economic, environmental, and social objectives.

It accomplishes this through an interconnected program of
1) undergraduate and graduate educations;
2) scholarly research; and
3) extended education.

Locations

Oregon State has a statewide presence with campuses in Corvallis and Bend, the OSU Portland Center and the Hatfield Marine Science Center on the Pacific Coast in Newport.
