Department: Fisheries and Wildlife (AFW)
Job Location: Corvallis, Oregon
Appointment Type: Academic Faculty (fixed‑term, non‑tenure‑track)
Hours: Full/part‑time, term‑by‑term

Job Summary

The Department of Fisheries, Wildlife, and Conservation Science (FWCS) invites applications for one or more fixed‑term, non‑tenure‑track instructor positions to teach on a term‑by‑term basis for the 2025‑2026 academic year and fall term 2026. These appointments may be reviewed for renewal or transition to an annual instructional position at the discretion of the Department Head. Instructors may be needed to teach any of the regularly offered undergraduate courses, occasional graduate courses, and may conduct field instruction on campus or via E‑campus.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach courses (approximately 90 % of time). Some courses will include driving state and/or federal vehicles to sites for instruction in field research protocols.
  • Curriculum development (5 %). Review current curriculum to update and develop new offerings or change existing courses for distance education delivery.
  • Supervision (5 %). Supervise graduate teaching assistants, including planning, assigning, and approving work.
What You Will Need
  • M.A./M.S. in fisheries, wildlife, biological or environmental science, or related field.
  • Teaching experience at the college or university level.
  • Demonstrated ability to design, teach and assess courses that support inclusive learning principles and promote equitable teaching practices.
  • Possess and maintain a current, valid driver’s license. Must complete a motor vehicle history check.
  • Must successfully complete a criminal history check (and self‑report convictions).

  • Evidence of teaching excellence (student, peer, or mentor evaluations).
  • Experience with distance education instruction, if applicable.
  • Life experience, education, or training that broadens capacity to equalize student success or impact underserved audiences.
Working Conditions

Pay Method: Salary
Pay Period: 1st through last day of month
Pay Date: Last working day of month
Recommended Full‑time Salary Range: Salary commensurate with skills, education, and experience
